Community Involvement & Pro Bono

Myers, Fletcher & Gordon takes seriously its role as a good corporate citizen. The Firm has consistently promoted the development of the arts and cultural expression while supporting social and educational organisations and social programmes with particular emphasis on the needs of inner city communities.

Through its Art & Cultural Committee, the Firm has supported local artists and now boasts an enviable collection of local and Caribbean works including paintings, mixed media, sculpture and ceramics.

Through its Community Support Committee, the Firm directly sponsors Highholborn Basic School, an inner city school catering to children three to five years in age. Myers, Fletcher & Gordon, encourages education and academic achievement and annually awards a variety of prizes to outstanding students, particularly at the Norman Manley Law School and The University of Technology.

The Firm encourages volunteerism. In that spirit, several Associates and members of staff support JAMAL, which is the national adult literacy programme. That programme, through several centres across the Island, aims to improve the level of national literacy. The MF&G volunteers support the programme by committing at least one day per week in teaching classes at the Anglican Church of St. Margaret's in Liguanea. Their effort brings hope to over ninety students enrolled at the centre.
