Norman Minott holds a LLB (Hons.) Degree from the University of the West Indies and was admitted to the practice in 1976. Norman demitted office as the firm's Managing Partner in July 2007 and is presently head of the firm's Property Department.
Norman is a well known real estate attorney with particular expertise in commercial, residential and resort developments. He is considered an expert in the area of strata titles and has represented several of the more prominent local real estate developers and financiers. He is an active member of the Jamaican Developers Association.
Norman has published and presented extensively on the Stamp Duty and Transfer Tax Acts, the Real Estate Dealers and Development Act, and the Registration of Strata Titles Act of Jamaica and, more generally, on legal aspects of the development business in Jamaica.
Norman is a member of the board of several private Commercial Companies as well as the Port Security Corp, a government security agency. In addition he has served as legal advisor to the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce and other civic associations.
His other interests are coffee farming and motor sports and he is a former member of the Coffee Industry Board and a past president of the Jamaica Motoring Club.
