Hilary Reid obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the West Indies and completed her professional training at the Norman Manley Law School. She was admitted to practice at the Jamaican bar in 1997 and to the Eastern Caribbean Bar in 2002. She is a past student of Campion College.
Hilary specializes in Commercial and Corporate law (with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, securities law and regulation, anti-moneylaundering, corporate and project financing, telecommunications and energy) and Employment law. She has represented several local and international companies and organizations in acquiring, establishing, restructuring and financing ventures in Jamaica.
She spent almost two years on assignment in the British Virgin Islands working with O’Neal Webster (formerly O’Neal Webster O’Neal Myers, Fletcher & Gordon) and Coverdale Trust Services Limited, where she acted not only as a trust and general commercial attorney in the law firm, but also as trust officer in the trust company.
She is a tutor of the Law of Associations at the Norman Manley Law School and the Chairman of the Commercial Law Sub-Committee of the Jamaican Bar Association.
She is a director of a local insurance company and a member of the Kingston Lions Club.
