Gina Phillipps Black holds an L.L.B. (Hons.) degree from the University of the West Indies and a Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School. She was admitted to practice in 1991.

Gina is a Partner and a member of the Firm's Commercial Department and is also the partner with responsibility for the Firm’s Corporate and Regulatory Compliance Department.

Gina’s practice involves a wide range of commercial matters including Corporate Finance; Banking and Securities Law; Security and Loan Documentation, Company Law, Taxation and Hotel Acquisitions. She has represented major commercial banks and many of the licensed deposit-taking institutions licensed in Jamaica. She has represented foreign banks as local counsel in loans made for the purpose of investments in Jamaica and some involving the government. Gina represents major players in the banking sector.

Gina sits on the boards of several companies in the manufacturing and money services industries and also chairs the Firms Social Outreach Committee that manages the Firm’s participation in social and educational organizations and social programmes with particular emphasis on the needs of inner city communities. Gina is a member of the Jamaican Bar Association’s Commercial Law Committee.
