Andrea Scarlett - Lozer practises commercial and intellectual property law. Her Commercial Law practice areas include securities and project finance, corporate governance, company secretarial, tax, contracts, employment law, and generally advising on and structuring commercial transactions. Her Intellectual Property Law practice involves contentious and non-contentious trade mark and branding issues, including infringement and ambush marketing, patent and design applications, image rights and copyright. Andrea has experience in protecting music and production rights, local and internationally well-known brands, and has represented a client in a transaction involving large government assets.

Andrea was admitted to practice law in Jamaica in 2004 after completing her Bachelor of Laws degree with honours at the University of the West Indies ("U.W.I.") and her Certificate of Legal Education at the Norman Manley Law School. In 2008, Andrea successfully completed Level 1 of the Chartered Financial Analysts Program ("CFA") administered by the CFA Institute. This program of study focused on the financial securities market and the various types of securities, including equity, fixed income, derivative and alternative investment products.

She studied law as a Jamaica Government Exhibition scholar. In 2002, U.W.I. awarded Andrea the prize for excellence in Company Law. She graduated from Norman Manley Law School on the Principal's Honour Roll and was awarded several prizes for excellence in various subject areas, as well as the Norman Manley Memorial Prize for academic excellence and discipline.

The Graduates Foundation Limited was co-founded in 2008 by Andrea and she is currently the Board Chairperson. This organisation has a mission of exposing, empowering and educating youths from poor and marginalized communities in Jamaica. She is also Legal Advisor to the National Parent-Teacher Association of Jamaica. Andrea holds a Certificate in Mediation Practice and Procedure awarded by the Dispute Resolution Foundation of Jamaica, and is a trained Youth Mentor. She is an Associate Tutor of Landlord and Tenant Law at the Norman Manley Law School and lectured Business Law and Company Law at the University College of the Caribbean.
