Jahmar is a new addition to the firm’s Litigation Department. He was called to the bar in December 2015, and his practice areas include General Commercial Litigation with an emphasis on Banking Litigation and Labour Litigation.
Upon graduating from Jamaica College in 2010 where he served as Head Boy, Jahmar was awarded the Carlton Alexander Scholarship to pursue a Bachelor of Laws at the University of the West Indies, Mona (“UWI”). There he represented UWI at the Caribbean Court of Justice Moot Court Competition in Port of Spain, Trinidad, where the team placed 2nd overall and won the award for Best Academic Institution, the first ever mooting award bestowed on the Faculty of Law at Mona.
After graduating from UWI, Jahmar enrolled at the Norman Manley Law School in 2013. Continuing his passion for mooting, he represented the Law School at the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot in Germany where the team placed 2nd overall and won the award for Best Team from Latin America and the Caribbean.
Jahmar has a deep rooted love for reggae music and can be found fishing on Jamaica’s coastline on weekends.
